Winter Scene Digi Card

Below is my tutorial for this creation as a Featured Artist for DigiDarla. I had a lot of fun creating it for you. I hope you like it!

I took the image and brought it into Inkscape...resized to the size I desired for my project. I then duplicated the image....imported in my registration marks.....then traced over the parts of the image I wanted to cut out with my Black Cat Lynx Cutter... "Sable".........Once I had the areas drawn out I closed the layer to cut out and then printed off the images with the registration marks on the paper......
BEFORE I cut out I decided to go ahead and color my piece..... to color this I chose to use watercolor pencils and the edges I distressed with my Zutter Distressing tool as well as Distress Inks in Tattered Rose and Pumice Stone.....Once I had the coloring completed I placed on my cutting mat and then did the print and cut technique with my "Sable" with Signcut software..... you'll notice the pieces I cut out were 2 of the houses and a tree.... I just wanted to give the card a little pop.....
Once all was cut out I then took my base image piece and layered over a piece of decorative paper and adhered with my ATG gun..... then I ran through my sewing machine to stitch around the edges..... I then took some lace and wrapped around the card base and a layer of decorative paper....adhered with my ATG gun... used foam dots to adhere the decorative layer....BEFORE adding the ribbon I used stickles in Rock Candy and Frosted lace all over the card to give a glistening snow look..... then used dimensional paint for the "snow" all over the image......

The final touches are the added dots that started as cream that I colored with a Blick Alcohol marker and then added the lace bow with the pins with hot glue.....
Voila!!!! This is my card....I really hope you like it....I also just want to say the quality of the digi image is AMAZING!!!! Digi Darla has some beautiful files....
Love....In Christ....Penny Duncan
